The trouble is...

is the journey.
For me, design is a fluid endeavour. I do develop a plan before I pick up my needles. …but it acts like a guideline rather than a hard and fast plan. I enjoy discovering what my knitting will undercover.
Will it have a waistband? If so, what type?
What will the body look like?
How long will the body be?
Will it have armhole shaping?
How big will the neckline be? Will it be mock-turtle, turtle, etc.
Ripping out is a part of my design work. There are so many possibilities choosing the correct solution is not always apparent. By the time the garment is finished I have designed not one but many.…and so while most of you enjoy a day off…here in BC…on this beautiful island…I knit. : )
